To plan a large wedding can be stressful and you want your guests to have a good time and enjoy participating so be sure to be mindful of your guests so that you can avoid any problems that may blow up to be large than necessary because of the size of your party. It’s always important to think of the last wedding you attended so you can take the good parts out and incorporate them into your wedding. This way you also see things the way your guests will see them. You may love the venue and it was easy for you to find, but will your guests feel the same? Did you arrive with children, as they may, and will you clearly mark the building as your own during your event?

Then once I arrive, it would be nice to have a gathering area where I can feel welcomed and meet others without crowding into a small area with people I’ve never met. Call me crazy but showing up to meet 100 or more people I’ve never met is not my cup of tea. But I warm up quickly if I’m comfortable.

Getting the right facility to fit the size of your party and your budget can be difficult at times and you may have to increase your budget if it’s the right facility. Nothing is worse than have all your guests crammed into a little space and feeling like they need to leave early so more of your guests can arrive and meet with you. Large open spaces are great for this and can be decorated to feel more intimate.

The issue of safety is a concern if you’re planning on having many children attend, and what wedding doesn’t have children. Okay some don’t have children but most do so keep this in mind. When getting in and out of the building as well as during the event you want to be sure it’s kid friendly for your guests to feel comfortable as well. No one wants their guests to leave early because they’re frustrated by having to chase their children around and watch out for every little thing.

Getting food into the building for your guests can happen by having the facility provide the food or by hiring a caterer to deliver, setup and maybe serve as well. Just be sure that you know what you’re getting into with your budget her because food can be expensive and sometimes it’s cheaper to use the facility’s caterer and other times it’s not. It’s certainly more convenient because it’s one less vendor to keep track of, but it’s also a matter of cost and menu.

Dancing is usually a part of the wedding, and if you’re going to have a dj or some live music, be sure that you’ve got plenty of space for them. This makes for a large dance floor and gives you an opportunity to keep your guests interested in staying at your after party. Besides djs and musicians need time to setup and will need to arrive early to do so and you want them to have the room they need to move in and out.

Decorating your building can change the appearance drastically so if you find yourself choosing one building over the other because of the way it looks, ask yourself if you could decorate one to look more like the theme of your wedding and maybe it’ll save you some money or provide better amenities for your guests.
