When looking for the best Hawaii wedding photographers, ask to see their sample albums. Then when you’re done with those ask to see their first and last wedding. This will likely throw them off and give you a chance to see their style and whether they can be consistent.

You can also ask to see more than one wedding album, or example wedding, to make sure you’re getting a photographer who can shoot with the same quality at your wedding. Most photographers will be able to show you many weddings upon request but you can go overboard just looking at all the beautiful photos. Usually within a few moments of looking at images, you can determine if their quality matches your standards.

Occasionally you’ll find that a photographer will show you individual weddings rather than just their favorite shots. This is great because if you get a wedding from your facility you can get a real close idea of how your wedding pictures will turn out.

Photographers can shoot many styles and some are better than others at achieving certain styles. So if you know what you want before you hire a photographer than you’ll be happy with your decision. If you find a photographer that does really nice traditional shots but you’re hoping for the love story type of shot then you’ll have wished for a different person on your wedding day.

Be sure to ask your wedding photographer how your photos will be delivered to you. For example: prints, cd, dvd, etc. Because digital photography has become so popular for shooting weddings, photographers will vary in the way they deliver your images and you want to find someone who will deliver them in a way that’s best for you.

Fine points to negotiate with your photographer include how to get more pictures after your wedding. Not immediately after your wedding but later down the road. This is only of concern if you don’t get a cd/dvd of your images because you’ll have to get all additional prints from your photographer.

Getting a custom wedding album is huge right now and they look so sweet. The pages are your photos rather than the pages “holding” your photos. It’s hard to explain but ask your photographer for more details so you can decide for yourself if you want a custom wedding album with your order.

Personality is also important because you’re going to be spending a lot of time with this person and you want to feel comfortable around them. Also finding someone who can disappear when necessary can make for some great candid shots.

Most photographers like to show off their camera like it means something to you (unless you’re a fellow photographer). In that case, you don’t need this article. However, the only reason to pay any attention to what they say about their camera is to make sure it’s newer and/or can produce quality images. Outside of that, it’s not really of concern to you.
